We are all aware of spam emails, but we are also aware more and more of spam text messages.
The text messages we send are done so in an extremely secure manner and it is pretty much impossible that this system could be compromised.
Not least of which because of the security first and foremost. Secondly because quite honestly it would be more trouble than it is worth to grab hold of the limited numbers of mobile details we have.
We make use of a shared SMS platform to send our text messages and a very secure connection between them and us.
This sends text messages using a short number - we are all familiar with those - TEXT 60175 etc
To make sure you know it is us we send a "sender name" with that - which is why the text messages appear on your phone as from us.
Here is the issue!
It is possible for spammers to pretend to send from this number even though they do not - and there is little if anything that can be done to stop this.
So they can send messages that appear to be from this 60175 (for example) number.
Now - if you have received messages from you, you phone in its wisdom will assume this is from us.
It is NOT.
NEVER click on these nonsense texts and never respond to them.
The only things that will ever come from us are
- Dressage or event times
- Short messages about the events
- Password reset if you requested it
In ANY other case just delete the message.
Please note that if you BLOCK this number you will be unable to receive any messages from us.
